Kent Thompson is a New York photographer whose work captures the extraordinary visual collisions of everyday city life—people against billboards, street art and architecture, moments of humanity unfolding against the constantly changing canvas of New York.

His street photography ranges from intimate and poignant portraits of New Yorkers to striking juxtapositions of people and the larger-than-life imagery surrounding them. His architectural work brings the same eye for composition, scale and drama to the city’s built environment.

A graduate of New York’s High School of Art and Design and the School of Visual Arts, Kent brings more than 35 years of professional photography experience to his fine-art practice, including an extensive career as a staff photographer for Macy’s. He is a member of American Photographic Artists.
